Christmas Book Review

Each year at the holidays I love to read books that are about Christmas.  This year, I have started early as I did a few book reviews and they needed their reviews done!  I am so excited to share with you this first book that I read earlier this month called Snowflakes and Coffee Cakes by  Joanne Demaio.  Have you heard of her?  I hadn't until I read this book, but she does write a lot of holiday books and this one was really good!

This book quickly gets you into the holiday spirit with wonderful descriptions of a New England Christmas.  The book takes a sad turn when you learn that one of the main characters, Derek, lost his daughter in an awful accident during Christmas several years ago.  In comes Vera, a journalist who finds herself longing to settle down in the small Connecticut town where she grew up. She buys a stately old home (in need of a lot of updates) that overlooks Addison Cove.

Derek's family owns a hardware store in Addison, and he begins doing repairs on Vera’s home. Derek  struggles his painful loss.  With most of the story taking place in the weeks leading up to Christmas, this is a warm and fuzzy story that’s full of inviting holiday details.  How the Coffee Cakes comes in, well, y
ou'll have to purchase the book yourself if you wish to learn more!

This book delivers on the holiday spirit!
